The Marine Extension Services facility in Brunswick, Georgia, was constructed in 1980 and expanded in 1990. The air conditioning equipment installed at that time met the minimum energy efficiency rating of 8.0 EER. The goals of this project are to replace out-dated air conditioning equipment with high efficient geothermal heat pumps, show the energy savings through monitoring, and educate the public on the benefits of sustainable construction.
