Energy and Thermal data for Pete's Place - WEL0077

Pete's Place : Pincher Creek, Alberta Canada

Have built a 1500sf walkout bungalow, all ICF, R42 walls, R60 attic, Triple pane windows. Very windy location. Too many windows I know, but view is amazing! Also built into south wall are three solar air heating spaces - A two storey - low mass porch, a center 'T' collector and a SW full wall collector. Collectors have twinwall polycarbonate glazing (see pic). In process of hooking up WEL sensors to monitor temps in more locations through winter.
Will decide this spring what adaptations to make - want to see how much heat the house needs, and collectors produce. Cost is a factor!
Have basement radiant floor heating (currently tied to 2nd std elect. DHW tank) and forced air upstairs -code (tied to 5KW elect. fan coil, rarely used). No gas or oil. HRV replaces bathroom fans.
Have not hooked up two 5500 gal. water tanks for heat storage yet.
Will experiment with air to water heat exchangers, and Phase Change Material in future.
Lessons so far - should have used Duxton (Winnipeg) R12 quad pane windows.
