The residence is heated and cooled by a Bard geothermal heat pump (2.5 ton; water to air, single stage, open loop; with custom hydronic backup/emergency heating system). A solar assisted domestic (and supplemental/emergency) hot water heating (drainback type) system has also been installed with dual 40 gal water storage tanks.
