This is our second RE home. The first was passive solar. This one is a Cape Cod. The Waterfurnace E-Series is doing a good job. Spend time to get a good installer, we didn't. Evacuated tubes are the best investment that we have made. 175 tubes on the roof heat a 650 gallon tank. PV is fun to watch, but way too expensive to get a payback. Connecticut needs to force the Grid to pay us $0.50/KW, instead of the wholesale rate of $0.11.

Our total investment of $50K will take about fifteen years to achieve some balance. But, that was not our goal. Our goal was to show that it could be done today.
